OUR HOME & PUPPY-RAISING PROGRAM
At Legendary Labrador Retrievers, our puppies are raised inside our home from birth. We believe the environment puppies experience during their first eight weeks plays an important role in helping them develop into confident, well-adjusted family companions.
Our puppies receive age-appropriate socialization and gradually experience the everyday sights, sounds, activities, and routines of a busy household as they grow.
ROOM TO PLAY & EXPLORE
Our adult Labradors enjoy plenty of outdoor time in our large, securely fenced property when weather permits. This gives them space to exercise, play, explore, and simply enjoy being Labradors.
RAISED INSIDE OUR HOME
Our puppies are born and raised indoors, where we can closely monitor their health and development.
As they grow, they are gradually introduced to normal household sights, sounds, surfaces, and activity. These everyday experiences help prepare them for the transition into their new homes.
HANDLED & LOVED FROM THE BEGINNING
Our puppies receive regular gentle handling and interaction as they grow. They become accustomed to people, affection, household activity, and the everyday experiences that come with being part of a family.
AGE-APPROPRIATE LIVING AREAS
During their first few weeks, puppies remain with their mother in a comfortable, closely monitored environment.
At approximately 3–4 weeks of age, as they become more mobile and curious, they transition into a larger puppy area that provides additional room to play, explore, interact with their littermates, and develop new skills.
Their space continues to expand and change as they grow.
TIME WITH MOM
Our mothers remain an important part of their puppies' development throughout the early weeks.
As the puppies mature and begin the natural weaning process, Mom is able to come and go for nursing and interaction while also enjoying time away from her increasingly active litter.
This allows the transition toward independence to happen gradually and naturally.
EARLY CRATE INTRODUCTION
Before leaving for their new homes, our puppies are gradually introduced to crates in a positive, age-appropriate way.
While puppies do not leave us fully crate trained, this early exposure helps make the crate familiar and can make the transition to crate training in their new homes a little easier.
OUR ADULT LABRADORS
Our adult Labradors are part of our everyday lives. They enjoy outdoor exercise and play during appropriate weather and have comfortable indoor accommodations for nighttime and periods of poor weather.
PREPARING YOUR PUPPY FOR HOME
Our goal during these first eight weeks isn't simply to care for our puppies—it's to give them a strong foundation for life with their new families.
By combining attentive care, appropriate socialization, household exposure, human interaction, time with their mother and littermates, and gradual introductions to new experiences, we work to help each puppy leave Legendary Labrador Retrievers healthy, confident, loved, and ready to begin life with their new family.
